What is TED?

TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues. Its goal is to make great ideas accessible and spark conversation.

What is a TEDx Event? 

Think of TEDx as hosting an awesome party, with great food, inspirational videos, brilliant speakers and mind-blowing conversation. By organizing a TEDx event, Dr. Izdihar Jamil, Ph.D. , our curator, has an opportunity to create a truly unique event that will unleash new ideas, inspire and inform.

A TEDx event is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and performances are shared with the community. TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis. The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all of them have features in common.

Speakers

10 speakers, change makers and leaders from diverse background and expertise will be talking about their unique ideas worth sharing that will impact our society, inspire a change within our community and potentially create a positive movement of what is POSSIBLE within our community. 

Audience

In-Person Audience. TED guidelines states that we can have a maximum of 100 audience at the event this year. Community members, local organizations and non-profits, local leaders as well as the supporters of the speakers are most likely to be in attendance. 

Online Audience. The TEDx Talk YouTube channel has 37.5 MILLON subscribers. Additionally, The https://www.ted.com/ platform has a worldwide reach of millions of other supporters. 

The TEDxHuntingtonBeach reach isn't just for a one-off event. But a message that can have a timeless presence for many years in front of millions of people.
